Cameron Rodriguez, Associate Attorney
(they/them)Having the right legal support makes all the difference. I aim to protect what matters most to my clients—whether that’s their children, financial security, or peace of mind—while also providing clear, realistic guidance throughout the legal process. Family law is not one-size-fits-all, and I take the time to understand each client’s unique needs, values, and priorities to craft a strategy that aligns with their goals. Whether I am helping a client assert parental rights, navigate custody disputes, or protect themselves and their children in an unwelcoming system, I strive to ensure that all my clients feel heard.
I provide comprehensive family law representation in matters such as divorce and parentage, child custody and visitation, spousal and child support, adoptions, domestic violence restraining orders, and name changes. I am especially committed to helping queer, transgender, polyamorous and non-traditional families address unique legal challenges: from securing parental rights in the face of shifting laws to ensuring fair outcomes in separations where the system may not yet fully understand their needs. At a time when LGBTQ+ families face increasing legal and political uncertainty, I am committed to providing representation that is proactive, compassionate, and tailored to their specific goals. My approach is nonjudgmental, inclusive, and adaptable to each client’s circumstances.
I am a strong advocate for my clients, and I also recognize that family law cases don’t have to be battles. I take a settlement-oriented approach whenever possible, working to reduce conflict, protect relationships, and reach fair resolutions without unnecessary litigation. Legal disputes—especially those involving children—are emotionally challenging, and I do everything I can to make the process more amicable, efficient, and cost-effective. Whether through negotiation, litigation, mediation, or creative problem-solving, I strive to help my clients reach practical, durable agreements that allow them to move forward with clarity and peace of mind.
I am a volunteer attorney for the Alameda County Superior Court (Family Court), and am a member of the Family Law Sections of the Alameda County, Contra Costa County, San Francisco County, and California Bar Associations, as well as a member of the California Lawyers Association, Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom, LGBT Family Law Institute, Transgender Bar Association, and Polyamory-Friendly Professionals Directory. Academically, I was the recipient of the Reynoso Academic Excellence Award for coursework in Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and the Law.
Outside of work, you’ll find me weightlifting, snuggling with my two cats, and planning for my next camping trip.
