Cameron Rodriguez, Associate Attorney
I am drawn to practice family law because I want to help my clients protect what is most important to them. I advise clients on all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody and visitation, spousal and child support, domestic violence restraining orders, and myriad other issues. My goal is to help my clients feel empowered throughout their family law proceedings, while also helping them maintain reasonable expectations of the process and outcomes. Every family is different, and I tailor my work to concentrate on a course of action that best suits their goals and circumstances.
Since law school, I have exclusively practiced family law. I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology at Rice University and my law degree at UC Davis. During law school, I interned with the Family Law Facilitator and Self-Help Center at the Yolo County Superior Court. I earned the Reynoso Academic Excellence Award for my coursework in Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and the Law. I also co-directed a clinic which assisted members of the transgender community to update their legal names and gender markers.
I have a special focus on serving the LGBTQ+ community, and I am particularly familiar with the family law issues faced by queer and non-traditional families. I seek to provide clients with representation that is compassionate, understanding, and tailored to their unique situations and means.
I am a member of the Family Law Sections of the Alameda County, Contra Costa County, San Francisco County, and California Bar Associations, as well as Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom and the Transgender Bar Association. I volunteer routinely in the Alameda County family law courts.
Outside of work, I love rock climbing, snuggling with my two cats, and trying to find the best pizza in the Bay Area.
